This course starts at the very beginning with the fundamental basics of Fingerpicking/Arpeggio in the style of Paco de Lucia.
No matter what level you are, please start this journey from the very beginning. You will have a great time and improve a lot.
In the first lesson we´ll learn the ascending Arpeggio with index, middle and ring finger (p-i-m-a), the correct movement of the thumb and "Full Planting".
Of course you can use this fingerpicking technique for all styles or genres of music.
Let the lessons inspire you. Create your own Arpeggios. Write your own songs. Grab your guitar and have fun….So let´s get started.

    WildWolfWildWolfHace 9 meses
    • You can do it on a classical guitar too but you need a low action for a more percussive/flamenco sound. I used a classical guitar in this video (Ortega RCE158SN-NT ▶ amzn.to/2WCdvaH ).

  • Why is it so important to place your fingers inside of your palm, it find it quite a challenge and makes it more difficult?

martijn van ammelrooijmartijn van ammelrooijHace 11 meses
    • @Frank Steffen Mueller owhh Okey! Makes sense now. I've got some problems increasing the speed... Sometimes it sounds perfect and than suddenly the timing's a little off... I should practice it this way since it's a much more consistent way of playing. You're a hero, keep it up man!

martijn van ammelrooijmartijn van ammelrooijHace 11 meses
    • You are absolutely right. Using this "Paco de Lucia" technique is quite a challenge. Most classical players use a technique where the movement from the fingers comes from "somewhere". Every movement is different. If you use the planting- and the finger-in-towards-the palm technique your movement from each finger is always exactly the same. This way you can easily train your muscle-memory. Hope that helps. Cheers :)

  • why we never can't see the left hand omg

    Edo .ArmEdo .ArmHace un año
    • Exactly. That´s what all flamenco players do. It helps to focus on the movement of the right hand and develops the precision of the rhythms.

Frank Steffen MuellerFrank Steffen MuellerHace un año
    • You don't need it. You can also play all the arpeggios putting the left hand over the strings without using any power. It will help you to concentrate over the right hand because the right hand is the base of the flamenco the left hand can automatically folow the right hand but not vice-versa. I play flamenco for 10 years and i can tell you that these lessons are pure gold.

      Q. flamencoQ. flamencoHace un año
    • These are basic exercises for the right hand only. There is no need for showing the left hand, because the chords don´t matter. If you want to play them, you can download the instruction booklet with tabs sheet music, chord diagrams etc. for free on my website. Have fun. Cheers :)

      Patricio ClaveriaPatricio ClaveriaHace un año
    • I feel, the thing is, one can play whatever chords which one chooses for themselves. The intention of this lesson is to assist us with right hand accuracy, and proper technique, to better allow for smooth playing. The chords aren’t necessarily of the essence, as much as getting that gentle and smooth, yet clear and audible projection while using the CORRECT fingers, as they relate to the strings they are assigned to. Otherwise one won’t be as fluid when they aren’t ASSIGNING a finger to a specific string. Once one has achieved accuracy in that realm, they can then enjoy being creative with the chords they so choose to employ :)

Brian Lee CheeBrian Lee CheeHace un año
    • It would help a lot in the beginning if we could see the fingering of the progression of chords. I can learn a lot faster watching you play and looking at the chord chart. Thanks for your teaching. I'm getting Basic 1 almost down but mess up a lot when I try to play with the backing track...vielen danke!
